David James "Dave" Dahlstrom

David “Dave” James Dahlstrom was born on October 4, 1960 in Winnebago, MN, the son of James and Clara (Roche) Dahlstrom.

He graduated from Fairmont High School in 1979. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of Notre Dame in 1983. He continued his education at South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, where he graduated with a Master of Science in Geology in 1986. He worked as a computational hydrogeologist.

Dave is survived by his loving wife, Lori (Buntjer) of 36 years. They were married in Fairmont, Minnesota on July 28, 1984. Dave is lovingly remembered by his children, Michael (Alexandra) Dahlstrom of Saint Paul, MN and Nicole (Michael) Greim of Fort Wayne, IN.

Dave is preceded in death by his father, James Dahlstrom; his mother, Clara Dahlstrom; his mother-in-law, Donna Buntjer; and his brother-in-law, Robert Thompson.

Those that will cherish his memory include his step-mother, Marge Dahlstrom of Fairmont, MN; three sisters, Susan (Tom) Feda of Salt Lake City, UT, Mary (Jerry) Dahlstrom-Salic of Bloomington, IN, Karen Dahlstrom of Stillwater, MN; and one brother, Greg (Ruth) Dahlstrom-Afcha; cousins, nephews, nieces, a great nephew, great nieces, and countless other friends. Dave will be missed greatly by his cat Josie, his grand-pup Hank, and his grand-kittens Jessa and Shoshana.

Above all else, Dave cherished his time visiting with family and friends. He enjoyed cycling the scenic trails and hills of South-Central Indiana. Though Dave would never admit he was a collector, he enjoyed hiking in search of geodes and other rocks and minerals to add to his stock.

Dave passed away at IU Health Bloomington Hospital in the presence of family on February 10, 2021 at the age of 60.
