David J. Mergo, 61, of Delray Beach, FL passed away peacefully on his wedding anniversary on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 after a long battle with cancer.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA on January 16, 1961, he was the son of the late Joseph J. Mergo and June A. (Duffy) Mergo. David resided in Ashley, PA and later moved to Delray Beach, FL in 2021.
David was formerly employed as a Maintenance Mechanic at Fabri-Kal in Mountain Top, PA and also served in the United States Navy.
David enjoyed trips to the casino, fishing, and always looking for treasures and seashells on the beach, especially in Sanibel Island, FL.
Surviving are his loving wife Teresa of Delray Beach, FL; step-son Paul David Lehman of Boca Raton, FL; sisters, Ann Mergo of Stillwater, PA; Susan (Mergo) Hammer and husband James of Plymouth, PA; brothers, Joseph J. Mergo and wife Ginny of Bear Creek, PA; Thomas C. Mergo of Albrightsville, PA; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and his beloved cat Sabrina. He also had a deep compassion for his friend Maureen Conway.
