David H. Brunt, 82, of New Hartford, Connecticut, died peacefully on Saturday, September 18, 2021, in Longs, South Carolina after a brief illness. Dave was born and raised in Bristol, Connecticut and was the loving son of Hildur and Bill Brunt. After graduating from Bristol High School, Dave went on to graduate from Leicester College and then worked at the Pentagon for the Army assisting with defense intelligence. After leaving the Army as a Sergeant, Dave worked most of his career as a salesman for Burlington Industries. Most of all, Dave was a loving husband and travel companion to his wife Eileen; proud dad (just ask him!) of his two daughters Kelly and Colby; loving brother (and partner in crime) to Jack; proud dog dad to many Brunt dogs over the years; and a friend to all. Dave, Eileen, Kelly, and Colby were fortunate enough to have many adventures together over the years from ski trips with friends and family to travels around the world. One of the things Dave was most proud of was that he had been to all fifty states and six continents in his travels. Dave also kept active through his work with the American Legion-Post 28 and his membership in the North Congregational Church in New Hartford and the Ebenezer Methodist Church in Longs, South Carolina. Both congregations were a great source of friendship and support. Most of all, Dave was a kind and gentle soul who made everyone who met him feel as though they knew him for years. Dave is survived by his wife of 52 years, Eileen (Nugent) Brunt; his daughters Kelly and Colby; his son in law, Bob Bradley; his bonus grandchildren, Thomas and Sage Bradley; his brother Jack (Rachel) Brunt; his brother-in-law Tom (Pam) Nugent; and his nieces and nephews Stacie (Kevin) Quilty, Kristen Brunt, Chris (Anuja) Nugent, Tim (Claire) Nugent, Jim Nugent and Ted (Hillary) Nugent.
