David Graham Litz, 87, of East Ridge, passed away Tuesday morning, June 9, 2009. David grew up on a family farm in Morristown, Tennessee. After graduating from high school he learned surveying and heavy equipment operation working for the Tennessee Valley Authority. During World War II he was a Navy Seabee, serving in Alaska and Japan. After the war he returned to Tennessee, married his sweetheart Eloise Parker, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from the University of Chattanooga. He was a mathematics teacher at Chattanooga Central High School and attended graduate school at Peabody College in Nashville.
