Mr. Autrey was cremated. Mr. Autrey passed away Thursday, January 16, 2014 at a Temple hospital David Gene Autrey was born December 2, 1951, in Temple, to the late Claude Autrey and Doris (White) Autrey. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1969 and stayed enlisted for 10 years until 1978.
During which he spent time in Korea, Germany and fought in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the VFW Post 10377, loved wood working and working horses. He was a jack of all trades and an avid motorcycle rider. He is preceded in death by his wife, Judy Kay (Elliot) Autrey and his parents.
Survivors include his two sons, Chad and Jimmy Autrey; one daughter, Lesha Raymond; two brothers, Billy and Charles Autrey; and six grandchildren; and his life partner and her son, Faye Coats and Steven Coats.
