David G. McKee, 104, of Danbury, husband of the late Ruth (Richardson) McKee, died on Saturday, July 2, 2022, at St. John Paul II Center for Health Care, Danbury.

Mr. McKee was born in Danbury, on September 3, 1917, the son of the late David G. and Margaret (Mott) McKee. He attended Danbury schools, graduated from Danbury High School in the Class of 1935, and attended the University of Connecticut. Mr. McKee served with U.S. Navy during WWII in their Construction Battalion Unit (CB) better known as Navy Seabees.

A lifelong area resident, Mr. McKee was a retired operating engineer with the former A.J. Kovacs Co.

He enjoyed collecting model trains and was once an active member of the Danbury Railway Museum. He was a member of the King St. Volunteer Fire Dept.

Mr. McKee is survived by a son, David G. McKee, and his wife Lois “Becky” of Danbury, a daughter, Wendy Burkowski, and her husband Eberhard of Bolton Landing, NY, five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. McKee was predeceased by a sister, Elisabeth D. McKee.
