David Edwin “Dave” Bachtel, 65 of Moberly, died Thursday, April 7, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born October 10, 1950 in Jackson County, MO to Elmer Edwin and Leola Lee (O’Bryan) Bachtel.
David attended Keytesville High School. He honorably served his country as a Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam era, working as a jet mechanic, stationed in Phoenix, AZ. After serving his country he held many various jobs throughout his life, including law enforcement, PepsiCo, and he was a mechanic and owned several service stations. His most recent endeavor was as the creator of missouriwhitetails.com website. He was very passionate about hunting fishing and the outdoors.
David is survived by Lori Grothoff of the home; siblings, Douglas Bachtel and wife Debbie of Keytesville, Debbie Imgarten and husband Barry of Salisbury, Donna Taylor and husband Wayne of Liberty; his children, Jerry, Sharon, and Eric; grandchildren; nieces; nephews; great nieces; great nephews; and a host of friends.
