David E. Childers, 63, Pendleton, formerly of Fortville, passed away at St. Vincent Hospice, Indianapolis on February 23, 2015. He was born September 1, 1951 in Greenfield to Burlin N. and Violet L. (Conger) Childers. Dave was a 1970 graduate of Pendleton Heights High School and Past Master of Fortville F&AM Lodge #207. He was the cemetery sexton for Gravel Lawn Cemetery in Fortville for 30 years.
He is survived by his wife Jeanine (Savill) Childers, whom he married on September 16, 1972; son David Childers, Jr.; daughter Heather Childers (Leanne) Abramo; grandsons Kaden Childers, Hugh and Burke Abramo; brothers: Guy Childers of Bloomfield, MO and Billy Childers of Dexter, MO; sisters: Cathy Price of Dexter, MO and Marie Aldridge of Ingalls, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers James Conger and Nick Childers.
