David (Dave) M. Walker passed away peacefully at home on June 28, 2021 at the age of 63 after a hard-fought battle with liver cancer; his close friend and companion Deborah Stenback and his brother Steve at his side.
Dave was a lifelong resident of Freeport, IL; the beloved son of Orland and Jean Walker, and grandson of Florence Rowen. He was a graduate of Freeport High School and had a long career in the automotive industry helping many area residents buy and sell cars.
He was also a talented musician who sang and played drums and keyboards with the Fat Cats and Newport Project bands.
Dave loved music, cars, cartoons, and a good joke. He made friends easily, could fix anything, and was always up for a bonfire or a boat trip on the Mississippi River. His friends and family will miss his kind heart, quick wit, and plentiful sense of humor.
Dave is survived by his close friend and companion Deborah Stenback, his brother Steve Walker (Wendy), two nieces, and many wonderful friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
