David Botler, 58, beloved husband of Pamela Grant Botler, passed away on Monday, December 7th at Hartford Hospital. A doting father and stepfather, devoted son and brother, and favorite business associate, David was at the time of his death an ING Sales Vice President specializing in brokerage life insurance in Long Island and New York City. Born on July 21, 1951 in Brooklyn, N.Y., David was the son of Irving and Shirley (Wolfson) Botler. He was raised in Coney Island and graduated from Lincoln High School. He moved to Texas, where he graduated in 1973 from Corpus Christi University. There he acquired many lifelong and loyal friends from his fraternity and developed his strong musical preferences for Bob Dylan, the Grateful Dead and The Band, among other musicians. He began his insurance career with Lincoln National, moved to Mutual of Omaha and then to Lincoln Security, which was eventually acquired by ING. Business associates quickly became friends and enjoyed David’s ability to pick the perfect dining experience. He loved all that is New York – from Broadway to Chinatown to Shea Stadium to see the Mets – and was everyone’s first call for a restaurant recommendation. His Zagat was his bible. He reveled in raising his sons, Matthew and Michael, in Mount Kisco, N.Y., coaching soccer and serving as league commissioner and cheering from the sidelines for every soccer, baseball and football game from preschool through high school.
