David “Sonny Man” Allen Skinaway, Jr. age 64, “Misko-Konaye” meaning Chief Red Cloak, of the Bull Head Clan and of Red Lake, MN began his journey to the Spirit World on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, from Red Lake Hospital. He was born March 4, 1957, in Red Lake, the son of David Skinaway, Sr. and Mary Rose (Johns) Skinaway.

David grew up in Red Lake, MN. He was an outdoorsman. He loved working outdoors and did various jobs. He has worked at the Red Lake Lumber Mill. He enjoyed hunting, trapping, fishing, and logging. He enjoyed being with family and friends.

He was survived by sisters, Diana Graves of Red Lake and Judy Beier of Grand Rapids; brothers, Ronald (Gidget) Skinaway, Sr. of Hines, MN, Virgil (Kelly) Skinaway, Sr. of Clearbrook, MN, and Quintin (Brenda) Johns of Red Lake; aunt, Geraldine (Dutch) Brun, uncles, Lawrence Lajeunesse, and Arnold Lajeunesse; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Rose and David Skinaway, Sr.; maternal grandparents, Frank and Philomene Johns; paternal grandparents, Ed and Claire Skinaway; brothers, an infant twin brother and Lowell Skinaway; sister, Valerie Johns; many aunts, uncles, and other family members.
