David A. Stevens, Sr., age 72, of Grassy Lick Road, Morehead, passed to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Baptist Health Hospital in Lexington after an extended illness.
He was born August 6, 1945, in Morehead, a son of the late Albert and Nellie Pelfrey Stevens. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Lee Stevens, and one sister, Rena Stevens Clark.
David is survived by his wife of almost 52 years, Regina Caudill Stevens; one daughter, Tracie Stevens McCarty and son-in-law, Bruce McCarty; and one son, David Albert Stevens, Jr., and daughter-in-law, Cami Cooper Stevens, all of Morehead. He was the most loving and devoted grandfather to Callie McCarty and Sophie Stevens, both of Morehead.
He is also survived by three sisters, Thelma Skaggs, Shirley Wells, and Marcie Gosper, all of Morehead, and was the loving proud uncle of 17 nieces, 11 nephews, and their spouses. He also leaves behind many extended relatives and good friends.
David was a United States Air Force Veteran and served as a weapons specialist on the F-4 Phantom at Ramstein Air Base in Germany during the Vietnam War.
