David A. Frechette, age 74, of Dowagiac, died Saturday afternoon, August 27, 2016, at home in the peace and comfort of his family’s presence. He was born November 14, 1941 in Gary, Indiana to David and Jeanette (Bergquist) Frechette. He married Phyllis Joan Sirbek August 21, 1965 in Chicago, Illinois. She survives.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Dave was a man of faith, devoted to his Lord, his church, and his family. He loved to sing whether in the choir or as a soloist at church or at Southwestern Michigan College. He worked at the church until he could not work anymore. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, including fly tying, and creating artistic stained glass.

Dave loved his family and adored his grandchildren. Dave will be greatly missed by family and friends. He leaves to mourn his passing and continue his legacy, his wife of fifty-one years, Phyllis (Sirbek) Frechette of Dowagiac; one daughter, Jennifer (Sharon Riecke) Frechette of Dowagiac; three sons, the Reverend Jeffrey (Laurie) Frechette, Sr., of Sterling Heights, Michigan, Jason Frechette of Dowagiac, Joel Frechette of South Bend, Indiana; five grandchildren, Emma Frechette, Jeffrey Frechette, Jr., Torin Frechette, Rhys Frechette, Annalynn Frechette; one sister, Carol Frechette of Dowagiac; one brother, Dennis (Cathy) Frechette, Sr., of Dowagiac; and a host of nieces and nephews.
