David A. “David C” Cervantes, 56, of Galesburg, died on Saturday, June 10, 2017, 6:43, at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg. David C was born on May 26, 1961, in Galesburg. He was the son of Anthony and Frances (Padilla) Cervantez. He is survived by his sister, Cyndi (Steven) Shotts of Galesburg; a brother, Shawn M. Cervantez; two half-brothers, Reid Cervantez and Reagan Keith, both of Galesburg; and many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
He is also survived by his special friend, Deb Gamble of Galesburg, her children, Rikki, Tyler, and Leticia Gamble, and her two grandchildren, Mya and Roman Gamble, all of Galesburg. David C was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Steve Cervantez; and a nephew, Jason Maulden. David C was a Galesburg High School graduate. He was a brakeman/conductor for the Burlington-Northern/Santa Fe Railroad for 37 years. David C was also a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Galesburg. He was an avid Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, and Fighting Illini fan. He loved to spend time with his family, and friends and attend his nieces and nephews sporting events.
