McAlister, Dattys Childs, 89, of Nashville, formerly of Chattanooga, died Thursday, March 15, 2007, in a Nashville hospital. Mrs. McAlister was born May 28, 1917, in the Boons Hill Community near Fayetteville, TN, the daughter of Tom Allen and Era Gunter Childs. She lived in Chattanooga most of her adult life and was recognized by her family and friends as a model wife, mother, and friend to many.
