Darrell Roegge, 83, of Jacksonville, died Nov. 13, 2015, at his residence.

He was born July 5, 1932, in Jacksonville, the son of Elmer L. and Katherine Streeter Roegge. He married Connie DeVan on June 11, 1955, in Wheaton, and she survives.

He is also survived by two sons and one daughter, Michael (Theresa) Roegge of Quincy, Brian (Sue) Roegge of St. Paul, MN, and Susan (Ken) Hecht of Port Washington, NY; five grandchildren, John and Wilson Roegge, Matthew and Meghan Roegge, and Sally Caye Hecht; an uncle Bill DeFrates; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Max Roegge (surviving wife, Sharon Rice).

A lifelong farmer, Mr. Roegge was involved with numerous local and state wide agriculture related organizations. He was also a longtime chairman of the Morgan County Soil and Water Conservation District. He served from 1952 to 1954 with the U.S. Army in Korea. Darrell was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville.
