Obit Darlene (Heinrichs) Flagle-80 of Davenport, NE

 

Darlene Rose Heinrichs Flagle was born March 12, 1942 to Elmer and Thelma (Voigt) Heinrichs at Deshler, NE. She departed this life Sunday, November 20, 2022 at Bryan West in Lincoln, NE at the age of 80 years.

 

She was baptized at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Deshler, NE. At the age of two, she moved to a farm south of Davenport where she lived until 1948 when she moved into town. She was confirmed at St. Peters Church in Davenport on May 1955.

 

She attended St. Peters Lutheran School and graduated from Davenport High School with the class of 1959.

 

On June 21, 1959 she was married to Carl Flagle. They were blessed with 59 years together. This union was blessed with two children, Robert and Marcia Lynn.

 

She lived in Nichols, IA and Hastings, NE until 1961 when she moved back to Davenport where she lived until her death.

 

Her life was spent raising her family and loved helping on the farm. She attended events her children and grandchild took part in during their school years. She loved going to her granddaughter’s Cross Country meets at Fillmore Central in Geneva. She was also faithful about attending her three nieces events and also her great nieces and nephews. The one thing she loved most was to listen to her family, the Heinrich’s Family Singers. Started by her brother, Don, and his three daughters, Sherry, Marla, and Lora. As the girls married and had families everyone was blessed with having beautiful voices and she loved hearing them sing.

 

She was a member of St. Peter’s Church since 1948, St Peter’s LWML, Nebraska Cushman Club and Cushman Club of America. She regularly attended Old Trusty Days in Clay Center, NE with Carl to show his scooters and antique gas engines.

 

The couple enjoyed camping and it was special to her when her children and granddaughter could go along. When her husband Carl became disabled with COPD her time was spent taking care of him and making him comfortable.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandparents and brother Don Heinrichs.

 

She is survived by her son Robert of Hastings, NE, daughter Marcia and husband Duane of Doniphan, NE, granddaughter Hilary and husband Warren of Hastings, NE sister-in-law Dixie Heinrichs of Davenport, NE, and many other relatives and friends.
