Darlene Snyder was born on November 25, 1936, in Ogilvie, Minnesota to Virgil and Bertha Snyder. She enjoyed living on the farm, working more outside than inside. Graduating from Ogilvie Consolidated High School, she left home right after to work in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

She worked in Minneapolis until attending Oak Hills Bible Institute in Bemidji, Minnesota, graduating in 1963 with a Bible Major and Missions Minor. She later worked for Oak Hills Fellowship as a KYB (Know Your Bible) teacher, taught Vacation Bible Schools, and was a camp counselor at summer camps. In November of 1967, she moved to Canon City, Colorado, and lived there ever since, except for 15 months spent in Williston, North Dakota.

She is survived by her sister, JoAnne (Bill) Hines; brother, John Snyder; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Dar is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Christine and Mae; 3 step-sisters, Lucille Emter, Dorothy Hoffman, and Nyla Seidel; as well as her step-father, Ted Haring.
