Darin James of Choctaw Bluff, better known as “DD” made his earthly transition May 23, 2018 at Grove Hill Memorial Hospital. Born Dec. 5, 1963 to Bernell James and George Lee James, he was 54 years of age.
Early in life he united with St. James AME Church, later joining Temple of God’s Harvest in Jackson.
Darin was a member of the Jackson High School graduating Class of 1982. He enlisted in the United States Army and served his country for four years. He also served as a trustee with the VFW Post of Jackson.
Preceding him in death was his father, George Lee James.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Shelia James of Lithonia, Ga; his beloved mother Bernell James of Choctaw Bluff; one sister, Antionette (Reginald) Rudolph of Atllanta, Ga.; devoted friend Kanisha Malone of Thomasville; six sons, Jarrin Mitchell and Charles (Bennisha) James, both of San Diego, Calif., Joshual Stabler of Jackson, Darien and Kristopher James, both of Stockbridge, Ga., and Kaylum Redgum of Alberta, Canada; two daughters, Darice James of Choctaw Bluff and Bernicia Rocker of Dallas, Texas; three step-daughters, Keisha (Derrick) Williams and Ashely Span, both of Jackson, and Teri Span of Huntsville; thirteen grandchildren, two nieces and one nephew; father-in-law, Earl Berry Sr. and Lucille Ware of Atlanta Ga.; two brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law; with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
