 Daphne Joy Corman the daughter of Alvin and Mae (Runquist) Whitehead was born February 5, 1930 at Bloomington, Nebraska.  She departed this life on Sunday, August 20, 2017 at the Lakeview Nursing Home in Grand Island, Nebraska at the age of 87 years.

Daphne grew up in the Nelson, Nebraska community graduating from Nelson High School with the class of 1948.  Daphne held numerous jobs during her life time including: the Nelson Nursing Home, the Grand Island Ammunition Depot and Kawasaki of Lincoln, NE.  In April of 1948 Daphne was united in marriage to Clayton Corman. This marriage to Clayton ended in divorce.

Daphne had been very involved with the Foster Grandparent Program at the Jefferson School in Grand Island.  She had also been a Sunday School and Bible School teacher at the community Church in Oak, NE.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Clayton, sons: Philip, Roger, Jimmy and Steve; and sisters:  infant Joy Whitehead; Beverly Whartman; Sandie Rogers and Donna Feehan.

Survivors include her children: Doug Corman and wife Debra of Grand Island, NE; Richard Corman of Lincoln, NE; Mike Corman and wife Deb of Grand Island, NE; daughter Kathy Moore and husband Denis of Edgar, NE;  and daughter Barbara Corman of Grand Island, NE; brothers: Pete (Maynard) Whitehead of California; Barney (Bernard) Whitehead of Illinois; Red (Delwyn) Whitehead of Virginia; sisters: Chiz (Charldene) Watson of California; and Rusty (Loretta) Osowski of Illinois; 11 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren; personal care giver for many years and son Mark Corman of York, NE (PO Box 447) 68467 PR; nieces, nephews other relatives and a host of friends.
