Danny Jay Davis, age 65, of Salem, died at 2:20 p.m. Thursday, March 9, 2017 at the Louis Stokes VA Medical Center in Cleveland. He was born June 23, 1951 in Salem, Ohio, the son of Lois Mae (Zimmerman) Davis and the late Lester William “Lucky” Davis.

He worked at the Chrysler Jeep Plant as a foreman for 2 years and at the former Sekely Industries for 30 years as a foreman. Danny was a Christian by faith. He was a 1969 graduate of Greenford High School and a life member of the Salem V.F. W. Post 892, Salem Amvets Post 45, Salem Eagles and the Italian American Club. Danny loved to fish, hunt and to box.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

Survivors include two daughters, Sarah L. Davis of Salem and Jennifer Davis of Canton; a son, Matthew (Susan) Davis of Lorain; his mother, Lois Mae Davis of Greenford; a sister, Deena (Harvey) Radcliff of Greenford; six grandchildren, Corey Evancho, Mackienzie Callahan, Killian Callahan, Caleb Blind, Abel Blind and Savannah Davis.

A brother, David Davis also preceded him in death in 1996.
