Daniel Jason “Danny” McMurtrie, 41, of Fountain Hill, died Sunday, August 15, 2010, in the VNA Hospice House of St. Luke’s in Lower Saucon Twp., after a sudden decline in health. Born in Fountain Hill, he was the son of Daniel and Connie (Petrie) McMurtrie of Fountain Hill. He attended Liberty High School and Northampton C.C.. Danny worked as a framer and a roofer in the Lehigh Valley. He also volunteered at the Fountain Hill Hose Co. for many years. An animal and nature lover, he enjoyed fishing, camping and sitting around the campfire. He also loved going to concerts. He was an avid Philadelphia Flyer’s Fan. Danny was always willing to lend a helping hand. He would give the shirt off his back and help others selflessly. He had a kind and generous heart of gold and was loved by all who knew him. Survivors: he will be lovingly remembered by his father and mother at home; sister Nicole of Northampton and his canine companions Jack and Sunny.
