Daniel Gerald HortonAge 44 of Owosso passed away Thursday, June 30, 2022, the result of a long battle with Tonsil Cancer.Celebration of Life will be held July 10, 2022, at 820 S. Shiawassee St. Owosso, MI. The family will receive family and friends at Noon. Please bring a copy of a photo for the family to keep and a story to share at the Celebration in loving memory of Dan.Daniel Gerald Horton was born September 10, 1977, in Owosso, the son of Gerald and Georgia (Crawford) Horton.He graduated from Owosso High School, class of 1996.Dan enjoyed bowling, kayaking, fishing, camping, and traveling and spending time with his family and friendsDan was employed with Sonoco and previously employed at Odawa Casino. Dan is survived by his wife, Stephanie (Ortiz) Horton; sons, Nick Horton,(age 18) and Zachary Horton, (age 8); father, Gerald Horton and step-mother, Carol Legg-Horton; father-in-law, Eddie (Kathy) Ortiz and mother-in-law, Kim Caruso; sibling, sister, Sarah Horton Keihl; nephew, Jacob Keihl and niece, Kaitlyn Keihl; step-brother, Brian Legg and family; step-brother, Keith (Natalie) Legg; step-brother, Doug Legg and family; step-sister, Johanna (Andy) Basil and family; and many other loving family members, especially cousin Logan Simon and friends. He was predeceased by his mother, Georgia (Crawford) Horton, and grandparents Walt (Shirley) Horton and Elveda Voris; uncle Daniel (Bub) Crawford; aunt, Debbie (Horton) Simon; brother–in-law, James Keihl and cousin, Dean “Jackson” Cunningham III.Memorial contributions are suggested to the family.
