Daniel “Hokey” Holcomb, 65, of Moberly, passed away, Wednesday, May 12, 2021. He was born November 25, 1955, in Moberly to Rolla Jr. and Marge (Dunlap) Holcomb.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepfather Sam Embree.

He is survived by his two children Tara Sturges and her husband Jack of Ray City, GA, and Toby Holcomb and his wife Leah of Moberly, five grandchildren; Natalie, Aspynn, and Finnley Sturges and Rylan and Aurora Holcomb, a brother Mike Holcomb and his wife Jennifer of Moberly, two sisters, Pat Eastman and her husband Rick of Jefferson City, MO and Melody Yancey and her husband Randy of O’Fallon, IL., nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In his younger years, Danny could often be found at the ball fields playing softball. As he got older you could find him with his son Toby deer and turkey hunting at Thomas Hill or at the park with a fishing pole in hand. Dan was a huge supporter of The Moberly Greyhounds, St. Louis Cardinals, Kansas City Chiefs, and Missouri Tigers. He could never go on an outing without running into someone he knew. Becoming Papa to his grandkids was his greatest joy. Dan knew how to spoil them and he was known to brag on them if he caught your ear.
