Passed Tuesday morning July 14, 2020 at his residence. Daniel was born November 12, 1953 in Decatur, Alabama a son of Clifford and Zana (Fowler) New. He had been a Gobles area resident most of his life and was employed with Harold Ziegler Automotive before retiring.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Daniel Robert New; and 3 brothers, Claude, Steve, and Otis New. On September 1, 1979, he was united in marriage to Barbara A. (Ashbaugh) New who survives. Also surviving, a daughter, Brandi Hitchcock of Gobles 2 grandsons, Josh and Danny; 2 brothers, Ronald (Vicky) New and James New of Decatur, MI; 2 sisters, Barbara (Jack) Burnett and Annette Shumway all of Decatur, MI; a special nephew, Bobby Ashbaugh; and several other nieces and nephews.
