Daniel Apfel, 66, of Ottawa, died on April 20, 2015 at the Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital.
Daniel was born on April 6, 1949 in Rice Lake, Wisconsin. His parents were Donald and Gladys Richmond of Norway. Daniel was a veteran of the Army and served in the Vietnam War. He was a prisoner of war and was missing for 6 weeks. Daniel was a member of the VFW, and Wheels of Time, and he enjoyed drag racing, tractor pulls, and anything that would go fast.
He is survived by his 2 sons, Bryan (Tiffany) Apfel of Ottawa, Thomas Apfel, of Tucson, AZ, and his daughter Tammy Apfel, of Tucson, AZ, and 8 grandchildren, Dalton and Maeghan Apfel, Jill, Julianna, Thomas Jr., and Ethan Apfel, and Nicholas and Ashley Gonzalez.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
