Danny Griffin, age 51, of Valparaiso, Florida, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2013, after a brief illness and period of care at Twin Cities Hospital. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Willie and Virginia Griffin and Daniel and Thelma Melvin.
Danny is survived by his parents, Robert and Joyce Griffin, Sr., his son, Colten Daniel Griffin, brother, Robert Griffin, Jr. (Terri), sister, Debra Ann Grube (David), and nephews, Nathan Grube (Melanie), Brent Grube, and Taylor Grube, of Hudsonville, Michigan.
He was born on October 1, 1962 in Atmore, Alabama and moved with his parents to Valparaiso soon thereafter. Danny graduated from Niceville High School. He was drafted by the Seattle Mariners out of high school; however, he accepted a scholarship to play baseball at Florida State University and later at the University of South Alabama.
The family would like to thank the staff at Twin Cities Hospital for their excellent care of Danny and also Covenant Hospice, and Dr. Blankenship, Dr. Campbell, and Dr. Reid.
