West Sand Lake – Dan Daigle, 61, passed away on January 10th surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Rochester, NH he moved to Averill Park as a toddler. It was there that he grew up and lived his entire life. He attended Averill Park High School and then Siena College. He married his loving wife Sylvia in 1991 and they had two beautiful children, Laura (23) and Michael (19). It is his family and friends that brought him so much pride and joy.

Dan co-owned a machine shop, Tri-State Machine, for 20 years. He then spent time as a sales representative for various steel companies, lastly Kivort Steel. He most enjoyed boating on Lake George and spending time at his seasonal campsite.

Throughout his entire life Dan made so many friends along the way, due to his outgoing personality, quick wit and kind heart. That was made clear during his last four months of life as he struggled with brain cancer. So many visitors came to see him and showed their support; for that he and his family are so grateful. He touched so many lives.
Dan is survived by his wife Sylvia; two children, Laura and Michael; his sister, Diane (Jeff) Dunworth; mother, Edythe; brother in-law, Jay (Tammy) Halford and father in-law, John Halford. Dan was predeceased by his father, Vincent Daigle when he was fifteen.
