Damon Manuel Lawson, age 70 of Manassas, VA died on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Novant Health Prince William Medical Center. Damon graduated from Stonewall Jackson High School in 1966, grew up in the Presbyterian Church and was a member of Brentsville Presbyterian Church at the time of his death. As a young man he was an active member of the Order of DeMolay. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman until he became ill. He enjoyed meeting new people and considered himself a friend to all. Throughout his long illness, he maintained a positive attitude, comparing himself to the Energizer Bunny, who just quot;keeps going and going and going.quot; He retired from IBM after many years of faithful service. He was preceded in death by his parents Van Lawson and Cathryn Lawson and by a sister Varina Hemmingsen. He is survived by his wife Karen Dunn Lawson, ; a son Alexander Lawson, two sisters Cobina Adams and Rowina Kennedy; his aunt Earlene Vetter and his numerous nieces and nephews great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews all who he deeply loved.
