Dallas Orrison Berry, 75, of Gainesville, VA, died July 18, 2016, at his home. He was suffering from idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Treasured by his family and friends, Mr. Berry was known for his sharp intellect, independent spirit, loyalty, and love of his family. Mr. Berry was born on May 29, 1941, in Washington, DC, to the late J. Gilbert Berry and Frances Orrison Berry. He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Jones Berry of Gainesville, VA. He is also survived by his brother, Joseph Gilbert Berry, JR, as well as by his nephews, Joseph Gilbert Berry III, Joseph Paciulli, and Orlo Paciulli and nieces Carmen Berry Myers, Grace Berry Cumings, Michelle Voytko and Annie Paciulli Campeol. He was predeceased by his sisters, JoAnn Berry Paciulli and Nancy Berry Keeran. Mr. Berry was a 1959 graduate of Randolph Macon Academy and was graduated from American University in 1964. He proudly served as a combat engineer in the United States Marine Corps from 1964 to 1967, fought in Vietnam in 1966-67, and received the Marine Corps Commendation Medal with Combat “V”. Mr. Berry was a member of the Virginia Trapshooting Hall of Fame and a loyal member of the Fairfax Rod and Gun Club and the Winchester Gun Club. He traveled the world to pursue his great love of hunting and fishing.
