Dale “Scooter” Smith, 53, of Silver City passed away on Monday, October 23, 2017 in El Paso, Texas.
“Scooter” as he was affectionately known to his family and friends was born on August 29, 1964 in El Paso, Texas. He graduated from Silver High School and was in the football, baseball and wrestling sports programs. Scooter then went on to New Mexico State University and Northern Arizona University to further his education.
Once he was out of school he worked in the construction business as a carpenter. Scooter loved fishing and watching football on television when the Minnesota Vikings were playing. He attended the First Baptist Church in Silver City. Scooter will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Scooter is survived by his mother, Vicki Smith; sister, Shelli Romo; nephews, Chris and Keith Romo; aunts and uncles; Macky Medley (Donna), David Smith, Andrea Smith and Kathleen Smith; numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Dale Smith.
