Dale Robert Hanson was born in Portsmouth, VA to Allen and Gertrude Hanson, where he spent his early years.
The family moved to Austin, MN after Allen retired from the Navy.
After graduating high school, Dale enlisted in the Air Force and served 14 years in the AF Security Police as a certified Attack, Bomb and Narcotics dog handler. Dale was stationed at Nellis AFB NV, Osan AB, South Korea, Homestead AFB FL, Florennes AB Belgium, and Lowry AFB, CO. Dale was an Operation Desert Storm veteran.
While stationed at Nellis AFB, he met his wife, Jennifer LaFrance. They recently celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary.
Dale retired from the US Bureau Prisons in 2013.
Dale left a loving family. Wife Jennifer, daughter, Janelle, her children, Chance and Hope, son, Daniel, all of Aurora, CO. Brothers, Keith and Gary Hanson of Austin MN, sister, Sandra Crowson of Rochester, MN.
An avid Minnesota Viking’s fan, hunter and fisherman, Dale often enjoyed camping with his family and friends. He also enjoyed playing softball. A member of Ducks Unlimited, NRA, RMGO, Vet Friends and American Legion.
