Dale Lewis, 79, of New Buffalo, Michigan died Sunday night, October 31, 2010 at the Life Care Center of Michigan City.Dale was born March 3, 1931 in Kingsbury, Indiana to William Carlen and Hester N. (King) Lewis. He served his country in the US Air Force and on June 15, 1950 he married Gloria Gordon in Valparaiso, Indiana. Dale was employed by US Steel in Gary and was a member of the United Steelworkers Union. He believed in staying busy.

He was a member of the New Buffalo Township Zoning Administration and also a member of the Planning Commission . Dale farmed his entire life, cut wood to keep his family warm, and was an avid hunter.Survivors include his wife, Gloria; children, Kevin Lewis and his wife Linda of Three Oaks; Karen Lewis of New Buffalo and Juanita Braden and her husband Tom of New Buffalo; grandchildren, Michelle, Marie Noel, Johnathon, Adam, Angella, Tyra, Kathrine, Charles and Daryl; great grandchildren, Mark, Maryellen, Ambriyana, Mercede, Alexis, Damien, Angelina and Aiden; his sister, Patricia Murabito of New Buffalo and numerous nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his daughters, Terrie Klettke and Valerie Ann Lowery, his sisters, Laverne Ogle and Juanita Chakos and brothers, Wayne Lewis and Ralph Lewis.
