Passed away Thursday September 15, 2016. Dale was born August 3, 1934 in Onward, IN. He was raised by Alice and Gage Carson and Carrie and Huey Townsend before he went into the U.S. Marine Corps and served during the Korean War. Prior to his retirement, Dale was a Kalamazoo Fire Fighter for 23 years and then a Kalamazoo Public Safety Officer for 3 years. He then Served the City of Richland as a Police Officer for 10 years. Dale was known as “Coz” by many of his fellow officers. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing, hunting and traveling.
On August 13, 1955 he was united in marriage to his loving wife, Judith (Benedict) who survives. Also surviving are his children, Michael (Michelle) Costello, Sabrina Tyler, Rebecca Costello; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brothers, Dave (Mona) Costello, Ronnie Costello; and several nieces and nephews. Dale was preceded in death by a son, Mitchell Shane Costello; and a sister, Ramona.
