The family of Dale Allen Grim is saddened to announce his passing on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at the age of 74 years.
Dale will be lovingly remembered by his wife of over 16 years, Geri (nee, Cramer); children: Kyle (Maria) Grim, Daniel (Shannon) Grim, Tanya Grim Chapman and Eric Grim; stepsons: Richard Renner and Daniel Renner; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; siblings: Mary Lou Bohm, Nancy (John) Elsner, Gail Watson, Valerie Weigandt, Karen (Adam) Weigandt and Dennis (Suzanne) Grim; stepbrother, Leon Arnst; sister-in-law, Mavis Grim; special nieces raised as sisters: Teri (Dale) Wesener and Sheri (Ray) Luck; as well as numerous relatives and friends.
Dale was predeceased by a baby daughter, Jennifer; siblings: Ella Mae, William, Beverly, Ronald, Marlene and Robert; parents: George and Ella Grim (nee, Polliey); and stepfather, John Arnst.
Dale was born and raised in Burt, where his mother raised 13 children and two nieces. He graduated from Birch Run High School, subsequently earning a Master Mechanic license. He worked many years as a mechanic for Bob Geese, who owned a full-service gas station in Bridgeport. Dale eventually opened his own auto repair shop in Saginaw. In his spare time, he enjoyed building engines, racing at local speedways and working pit crew for local race car drivers. He was a lifelong NASCAR fan. Later in life, Dale enjoyed woodworking in a woodshop he built himself, often gifting his creations to friends, family and neighbors. He was a member of Lake City United Methodist Church and Executive Committee Member of the Missaukee County Democratic Party.
