Dalbert J. Thomas, age 93, of Salem, died at 10:10 p.m. Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at the Sterling House of Salem. He was born in Salem, Ohio, November 24, 1920, son of the late James U. and Greeta A. (Whinery) Thomas. A U.S. Navy Seabeas of WWII from 1942 to 1945. He was a 1939 graduate of Salem High School. He worked at Firestone Electric as an Electrician for 45 years. He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and a former member of Perry Lodge and the Local Union #64 (IBEW). He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He survived by his wife, Darline D. (Hively) Thomas, whom he married February 28, 1942. A son Brent (Barbara) Thomas; a daughter, Maureen (Joe) Null; 5 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by one brother, Duane Thomas.
