On December 18, 2017 the dark wintery clouds parted and Daisy Elaine Baisden went to meet her Lord in Heaven at Bethesda Hospital in Zanesville Ohio at the age of 71.

Daisy is survived by three children Troy (Elizabeth), Tracy (Tim), and Tyler (Bobbie) and over a dozen grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her late husband Woody Baisden (Zanesville, OH), sister Wilimena Hicks (Columbus, OH), and mother Anna Mae Hicks (Columbus, OH).

Born on the 20th of September, 1946, Daisy entered this world on a warm fall day. Ralph and Anna Cremeans brought her up in Columbus where she attended school, found adventure, love, and the comfort of family and friends.

Later in her years she would hear the call of adventure once more and embark upon her most impossible adventure. At the tender age of 56 Daisy won her Bachelors Degree from Ohio University in Business Communications, often going to college with her daughter Tracy, who also was working toward her degree. This education and all she had learned in her previous life would serve her well in one of her last big adventures.

Marrying Woody, a Vietnam veteran, and with her oldest son Troy in the military, she discovered a love for helping those that serve our country. Countless veterans were helped by her selfless service to veterans organizations that she sponsored, often at personal expense to her and her loved ones. No veteran was too far away, or too far gone to want for something when Daisy was around, and her efforts made houses warm in the winter as bills were paid, Christmas possible for veterans who were out of work, and many other charitable acts.

Daisy’s golden years were spent enjoying grandchildren, playing Pogo, and getting the most out of life. Following her son Tyler to Kentucky she spent afternoons on the porch watching horses being ridden, turkeys being chased, and the southern sun coming to rest on the horizons. Her hearty laugh and the childlike glee of seeing children smile will be missed by all that knew her.
