D. Evangeline (Carlton) Kuester was born on May 13, 1919, to Edward F. and Madeline (Sheley) Carlton. D. Evangeline Kuester passed away peacefully at Colonial Manor in Anita, Iowa, on Wednesday, March 10, 2010.
Evange grew up in Anita graduating from the Anita High School in 1936. She had various jobs and enjoyed helping her dad farm.
On March 4, 1942, she married Arnold R. Kuester. Soon after they were married, Arnold served four years in the Army Air Corps. After his discharge in January of 1946, they bought the George Seidleman farm south of Adair, where they resided until Arnold’s death in 2002.
Evange loved farming, quilting and dancing.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sister, Carol Shaffer; and her brother-in-law, Mike Robson.
Evange is survived by her sister, Virginia Robsen of Lake Forest, California; her brother-in-law, Bill Shaffer of Las Vegas, Nevada; special friends, Brenda Irlmeier of Adair, Iowa, Cara McClain Murphy of Anita, Iowa and Cale McClain of Adair, Iowa; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
