Born March 28, 1967 in Danville, she was the daughter of Melvin Lee Compton, Sr. and Linda Kent Compton. She was married to Peyton South. Cynthia was a social service worker for Caswell County and was a graduate of Danville Community College. She was a member of Blessed Hope Baptist Church. In addition to her husband and her parents, she is survived by her sons, Dylon South and Guy Goodson, Jr.; her sister, Amy Compton of Danville; her brother, Melvin Compton, Jr. of FL; two nephews and one niece.
