December 22, 1956 – October 12, 2016
Cynthia (Cindy) Vanlandingham left this earth to be with the Lord on October 12, 2016 due to injuries suffered in a car accident. She was born on December 22, 1956 and adopted when she was two years old by Mr. and Mrs. Boggs of Denver, CO who have preceded her in death. Cindy is survived by her husband, James Vanlandingham, who at this writing, is in ICU at BAMC suffering from injuries from the same accident. Also surviving is her only son, Jason Munson; step-daughter, Lillian Vanlandingham; father-in-law, Luther Vanlandingham; sisters-in-law, Elena Garcia (Candelario) and Jenny Parker (Byron); brothers-in-law, Luther Vanlandingham, Jr. (Dana) and Greg Vanlandingham (Cynthia). “Arise and shine and give God the glory, glory…..” (from a song based on Isaiah 60:1)This was our Cindy. And, it still is our Cindy, though removed from amongst us now. Meeting Cindy for the first time was probably a bit of a surprise for some people because of her deep, abiding love for our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. She wore this love “on her sleeve”, as the quote goes. If you brushed shoulders with her, some of that “love” surely rubbed off on you. But the outstanding part of all of it was that she made sure that you knew the “love” was from Jesus to YOU! A humble person, with not an ounce of self-righteousness nor a holier-than-thou attitude, was this child of God. THIS is what obedience and dedication to the Lord God is all about. May we all walk in this “child-like” faith all the days of our lives, as she did. This joyful lady is already greatly missed by her family, co-workers at Walmart and the many people who knew her throughout the Boerne community.
