Curtis H. Hammond, Sr., 78, of Muncie, went to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday,
February 12, 2011 at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne. He was born on April 28, 1932 in Casey County, Kentucky to Charlie and Maggie Rae (Potts) Hammond. Curtis was a
crane operator for 31 years at Indiana Steel and Wire Company. He was a member of Whitney Lodge 229, F & AM.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Ruby (Knight) Hammond, son Curtis H. Hammond, Jr. (wife-Jonica); Muncie, daughter Deborah Hammond; Muncie, 5 grandchildren Aaron Hammond; Farmland, Amy Alberson (husband-Joe); Muncie,
Anette Walters (husband-Tom); Selma, Kirk McDougle; Swansboro, North Carolina,
Katie Ferris, (husband-Brent); Grand Haven, Michigan, 6 great-grandchildren Caleb;
Madison; Logan; Zachary; Olivia; Gavin and several aunts; uncles; cousins and many,
many good friends.
Curtis was preceded in death by his parents; grandson Andrew Hammond; 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
Curtis loved life and people. He never met a stranger and was a treasured friend to all.
