HARRISON, Curtis H., Kalamazoo. Passed away Friday evening, September 3, 2010 at Kairos Dwelling. He was born September 2, 1920 in Colbert County, AL, a son of J.K and Odie Gibson Harrison and had been a resident of the Kalamazoo area for 52 years.
Curtis served as a medical corpsman in the United States Army during WW II, and worked for the Parchment School District for 23 years as a custodial supervisor. He enjoyed being outdoors, his garden and animals, reading, and family was always his priority. On August 2, 1946, he married Delma Garner, who preceded him in death on May 29, 1999. He was also preceded by his parents; a brother Warren Harrison; and a sister, Frances Roberson.
Curtis is survived by his daughters, Jan Don Norton of Comstock and Deb Rick Everett of Oshtemo; two grandsons, Chip Kristin Everett of Oshtemo and Stephen Everett of San Diego, CA; a brother, Lonnie Mary Harrison of Paw Paw; a sister, Bettye Hershel Tanksley of Augusta; nieces and nephews.
