CURTIS E. DURST

Curtis Edward Durst, age 61, of Petersburg, WV passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at the Grant Rehabilitation and Care Center in Petersburg.

He was born January 9, 1955 in Charles Town, WV and was the son of the late Jack Edward Durst and Ruth Pauline (Snyder) Durst.

Mr. Durst graduated from Hampshire High School in 1973 and attended Potomac State College and graduated from West Virginia University. He was former owner/manager of radio stations, WQZK, WKLP in Keyser, WV and also former manager of Grand Central Business Center in Keyser, WV, WBHN in Bryson City, NC and most recently was the owner/manager of WELD AM & FM and WQWV in Fisher, WV.

He was a former member of the Keyser Rotarians, Development Authority in Mineral County and active in the Mineral County Republican Club. He was a member of the Grant County Development Authority, the Board of Directors at Eastern Community College and a member of the Moorefield Lions Club. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Petersburg.

Curtis is survived by his wife of 34 years, Sandra L. (Cox) Durst; one son, Floyd Shepard of Merced, CA; grandson, Kyle Shepard, one sister, Kaycee Lichliter of Middletown, VA; brother-in-law, Gary Cox Sr. and wife Beverly; and sister-in-law, Darleen Spiker; 4 nephews and 2 nieces and 5 great nephews and 3 great nieces; extended family, Kerry and Dave Long and son Keagan of Merced, CA.
