Curtis Oliver Sealy (Curt), 77, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2020. Curt is survived by his best friend and soul mate, Grace Monarco; his daughter, Christina Heath; his son, Curtis Paul Sealy; and six grandchildren, Ben, Rania, Kennedy, Kellie, Mary Cate, and Georgeanne.
Curt was a well-respected Civil Engineer, obtaining his Bachelors of Science from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and a Master’s Degree from Arizona State University. He was a Registered Professional Engineer in states of Colorado, California, New Mexico, and Arkansas and practiced his profession all over the world to include projects in South Africa, China, and Uzbekistan.
Curt had many friends and a close co-worker recently wrote: “Curt once said that he wanted his epitaph to read, ‘While alive, he lived twice.’
I can honestly say that was true, he earned that. He had a greater lust for life than anybody I’ve ever known. He wasn’t “rich” by modern standards, but he definitely enjoyed what he had far more than most.
He might have had a hard time if he was just starting out in today’s world because he was one of the last of the ‘Cowboys’. He got things done, his way. He didn’t always follow the rules, he certainly wasn’t politically correct, and usually sealed the deal over a cocktail or a cold beer. He was always ready with a joke. He could be charming and vulgar, open minded and stubborn, bigoted and generous to a fault. It just depended on the circumstances. He certainly taught me a lot about work, life and most importantly, living. He will be sorely missed.”
