Crystal Claire Lockard Nixon, age 61, passed away Monday, December 3, 2018 at Emory Hillandale Hospital. Claire was born September 21, 1957 in Arlington Hospital, Arlington, VA to Major Clair R. Lockard and Hazel Craft Lockard. She graduated in the class of 1975 from Newnan High School and attended Reinhardt College. Claire married Bill J. Nixon, Jr. in 1982 and lived in Stone Mountain, Georgia.
She is survived by her mother of Wesley Woods, Newnan, GA; brother, Lt. Col. (Ret) John R. Lockard and his wife Mary Anne Hambrick Lockard of Columbia, S.C. She is also survived by her nephews, John Wesley Lockard and wife Kim and their three children Logan, Elle, and Luke of Columbia, S.C.; Michael David Lockard and wife Shannon and their two sons, Sam and Eli of Boston, Mass.; niece, Katherine Tyler and husband Jot Jayne and their two children Oliver and Tyler of Johns Island, S.C.
