Mrs. Cruz Alvarado passed away surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, November 3, 2020. She put a long, courageous fight determined to win. She was born in Plomosas, Chihuahua to Rafael Holguin and Baudilia Holguin on May 3, 1959. She married Alfonso Alvarado on February 1, 1979 and was blessed with 41 years of marriage. She dedicated her precious life as a homemaker, a wife, a mother, and a grandmother. She was a grand example to her children and grandchildren! When one of us got sick she was ready to make her famous chicken soup. She loved attending our annual family’s Christmas party and was known for bringing her famous potato salad and her empanaditas. She is survived by her husband, Alfonso Alvarado, her sons, Alfonso Alvarado Jr., Christian Alvarado, and her son by marriage, Miguel Sandoval, her daughter’s, Heidy Alvarado and Aidee Alvarado. She is also survived by her 16 grandchildren who miss her dearly and she loved each unconditionally. She is survived by her 5 sisters and 3 brothers, and numerous nieces and nephews who loved her unconditionally. She is also survived by her lifelong friend of 41 years, Ele Castillo, whom she loved and cared for dearly. She taught her family the value of having good morals, respect for others, and the love for God.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Baudilia and Rafael Holguin, sister Gloria Holguin Rios, nephew Edgar Alvarez, nephew Rene Villegas Jr., niece Crystal Villegas, and nephew Jonathan Holguin.
