Craig Ryan Sandler, born March 5, 1992, passed away on Sunday March 28, 2021 after a lifelong battle with depression. Craig was born in Rockledge, Florida and grew up in Westford, Massachusetts. At his high school, Westford Academy, he was an active member of the theater community. Craig graduated from George Washington University in 2014 with a BA in Psychology and a minor in Political Science. He volunteered at RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network) as an Online Hotline Staffer. Craig dedicated his career to advocacy work, including Bazelon Center for Mental Health Law, Fission Strategy, Prosperity Now, and Public Citizen.Craig was a light in the lives of those who knew him, and the world is darker now without him. Craig’s loved ones describe him as a beautiful soul, quick as a whip, with a big, soft, heavy heart. He was empathetic, silly and sweet, with an encyclopedic memory for movie and song quotes. He felt the injustices of the world so deeply and was a vocal ally and fierce advocate for those in need. Craig shared many beautiful moments with those he loved.
