Dr. Craig Iorio passed away suddenly on November 18, 2021, at the age of 64.
Craig is survived by the love of his life and best friend, Andrea. They were married on August 19, 1984 and enjoyed over 40 years together, filled with laughter, music, adventure, and years of walks with their dog Maya.
Craig was an amazing father. He is lovingly remembered by his children: Katrina, Sam, Alex, and her husband Dehmeh Smith, who share his unique creativity, love of the arts, sharp wit, and compassion for all people. He was an incredible supporter, and always encouraged his daughters to pursue their
passions and dreams.
Craig is also survived by his father Dominic Iorio; and his siblings, Debbie (Tony), Chris (Janice), Yvonne (Bill), Clark (Beth), and Gina. Craig is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ann Iorio.
Craig was also a supportive and loving brother-in-law to John Emigh and Janice and Dave Scharre. Craig is preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Joan Emigh, and his sister-in-law, Peggy Emigh. Craig also had a close relationship with his many nieces and nephews.
Craig was born on December 21st, 1956, in Pittsburgh, PA and graduated from Central Catholic High School. He attended DePauw University on a football scholarship where he met many of his best friends on the team and in the Sigma Nu fraternity. Craig graduated from National School of Chiropractic and became a beloved doctor and friend to each of his patients.
Craig was hilarious. He was a man of many interests and talents. Craig and Andrea traveled the world together, and would often spend nights and weekends attending concerts around Chicago. He spread joy and laughter through storytelling. Craig wrote original stories, but also had the unique ability to capture a room with his humor and wit. He was very musical, a trait shared by his three daughters.
Craig maintained great friendships throughout every stage of his life, and was a father figure to many. He was a healer, a counselor, and helped every person he knew. An athlete and sports lover, Craig was an avid fan of the Steelers and the Bulls. He adored live music, theatre, and fun.
