Corporal Thomas Orlando Erickson, 62, of Myrtle Beach, SC, formerly of Clarksburg, passed away on Friday, June 18, 2010 in Myrtle Beach following an extended illness. Cpl. Erickson was retired from Bell Atlantic Telephone Company where he was an Engineering Assistant, and was most recently a Laborer for Bureau of Public Debt in Parkersburg, WV. He was also a Corporal with the United States Marines having served during the Vietnam Conflict. Cpl. Erickson was born in Clarksburg on April 3, 1948, a son of the late Wallace Orlando Erickson, and Ella Margaret Joyce Erickson. In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife, Shirley Darlene Kerns Erickson, whom he married April 6, 1974; one son, Phillip Scott Erickson and his wife Christy Cummings Erickson, Morgantown; two sisters, Ruth McCullough and her husband Joseph, Shinnston, and Ella Marie Huffman and her husband Gary, Morgantown. He loved his dogs, Rocky and Ginger. Cpl. Erickson was a 1966 graduate of Washington Irving High School and joined the Marine Corps on 6/6/66. He was a loving husband and father, and enjoyed many happy and wonderful years with his family.
