Coy Bishop, the son of Hugh and Mamie Lee Hutchcraft Bishop, was born September 15, 1926 in Cofeeville, Kansas. He attend school in Missouri. Coy served his country during WWII in the U.S.

On February  29, 1956, Coy was united in marriage to Judith B. Parsons in Killduff, Iowa. They continued to Make their home Newton. Coy was a truck driver for 50+ years. He had driven for K-line Trucks and Bisom Truck Lines where he retired in 1988. Coy had also owned and operated Bishop Trucking. He was a member of VFW post 1655, American Legion Post 111 and UAW local 997. 

Coy was Proceeded in Death by his parents; his two brothers, Cecil and Bill; and his sister, Wanda Wohlwend. Those Left to honor his memory are his wife, Judy of Newton; his two sons and daughters-in-law, Danny “Bud” and Sherry Bishop of Iowa City, Iowa; Doug and DeAnn Bishop of Baxter, Iowa; his three daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Mike Richards of Newton; Dana Woody of Newton; and Darla and Craig Modlin of Newton; his nine grandchildren, four step grandchildren, and two step great-grandchildren; his three brothers, G.C. “Sparky” Bishop of Bridge City, Texas; Danny Bishop of Columbus, Georgia; and Roger Bishop of Newton; his two sisters, Luan Conley of Creston, Iowa; and Zelda Lundberg of Newton; and his many nieces and nephews.
